- 3–4 large ripe mangoes (preferably Ataulfo or Carabao variety), peeled and sliced
- 2 cartons (250ml each) chilled all-purpose cream
- 1 can (300ml) chilled sweetened condensed milk
- 1–2 packs (200g each) graham crackers
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder (optional)
- A pinch of salt (optional, to balance sweetness)
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the mangoes. Peel the ripe mangoes and slice them into thin, even pieces. Set aside a few slices for garnish if desired.
- Step 2: Make the cream mixture. In a large mixing bowl, combine the two cartons of chilled all-purpose cream and the can of chilled sweetened condensed milk. Add the alcohol-free vanilla extract and a pinch of salt (if using). Whip the mixture with an electric mixer or whisk until light, airy, and well combined, about 2-3 minutes.
- Step 3: Begin assembling. Get your serving dish (a 9×13 inch rectangular dish works well). Arrange a single layer of graham crackers at the bottom of the dish, breaking them as needed to fill any gaps.
- Step 4: Layer the dessert. Spoon about one-third of the cream mixture over the graham crackers and spread it evenly. Neatly arrange a layer of mango slices over the cream. Repeat the layering process: graham crackers, then cream, then mangoes, until you have used all the ingredients, ending with a final layer of cream on top.
- Step 5: Chill thoroughly. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the graham crackers to soften and the flavors to meld.
- Step 6: Serve and enjoy. Once chilled, remove the Mango Float from the refrigerator. Garnish with a few extra mango slices on top before slicing and serving this creamy, tropical dessert.
